Bankruptcy Filing Fees

Filing fees at the Newport News Division are the same as all Eastern District locations. These amounts are set by federal law and are uniform nationwide within each district. Confirm the current amounts with the court before submitting a petition, as fees can be updated.

Standard filing fees:

  • Chapter 7: $338
  • Chapter 13: $313

Poquoson City Records and Shared Services

Poquoson is a small independent city that shares a number of constitutional services with York County. The York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office covers law enforcement for both jurisdictions, and the jail is a shared facility as well. The Circuit Court, as noted, is the York County-Poquoson Circuit Court. These shared arrangements are common for smaller Virginia independent cities that surrounded by or closely tied to a neighboring county.

Poquoson maintains its own city government and administrative records. The city's FOIA page at ci.poquoson.va.us/345/FOIA-Officers-and-Policies lists FOIA contacts and policies.
